Maxwell is a 14-year-old black lab-chow who heartily recommends Walter the Farting Dog written by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, and illustrated by Audrey Colman. As a geriatric dog, Maxwell can relate to some of the (ahem) gastrointestinal challenges Walter faces. Poor Walter! Dogs can’t help it—sometimes they’re smelly.
Maxwell’s favorite things are hanging out with his humans, who own the Ouray County Plaindealer weekly newspaper, as well as eating bacon, taking naps on carpet, and walking around town with his humans. He recently moved to Ridgway with them and is enjoying the wildlife, except for the chipmunks that tease him outside the windows. He promises this book will have the whole family laughing, even the humans.
