Ouray Bookshop has been off to a great start and much of it is due to two people;
Robert Stoufer and Nancy Nixon.
Robert, the former owner of Buckskin Booksellers, has been an invaluable asset to the shop.
In addition to working several shifts a week, he has helped us navigate ordering from the small publishers who provide the local history and interest books, as well as all of the various maps.
His advice on many other topics related to bookselling has been very much appreciated.
Nancy, who has years of being a school librarian/teacher under her belt, helped us put together a wonderful children’s section.
Our large variety of children’s books is due to all of the research and recommendations she made.
Nancy also spent many, many hours helping us organize the shop before we opened. We wouldn’t have been ready in time to open before the busy summer season without her.
Gratitude can transform common days into
thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and
change ordinary opportunities into blessings.
